Cadette and Senior Girl Scout Activities at the Faire

Come to the Virginia Renaissance Faire and work on Girl Scout Badges.  Common Faire activities and events can be used toward various badge requirements.  The following information is provided as a guide that can to be used to map common activities and events at the Faire to different badge requirements. 

Always check your Special Interest Projects for Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts Book for full information since some requirements have several parts.  Please remember to follow Girl Scout policy regarding earning recognitions as well as any safety requirements specified in Safety Wise.

Submit a sonnet in the Sonnet Contest

Learn a traditional skill, domestic art, or craft replaced by technology
or that young women of a previous generation would have performed.

Observe the clothing of different characters and determine what styles were popular during Renaissance England.
Attend or participate in the costume contest.

Make comparisons between the way people live today and 100 years ago.

Learn a game of strategy at the Militia

Talk to women in Staffordshire

Learn a dance at the Maypole

Attend a musical performance at the Rose Stage, Phoenix Stage, or Woodland Stage

Give a solo performance. **(Audition Required)**

Investigate loomless weaving.

Learn a handwork technique used to adorn clothing

Work as a stage hand

Become a member of the Faire cast
