OOTW Reading Club
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was an avid reader and encouraged education for members of her court and their families.
Join Queen Elizabeth and her Court and become a member of the OOTW Reading Club.
Open to students in Grades 3-5
Rules:
- 1. Read a story about a subject that interests you
- 2. Submit a short description of the book and/or a picture that illustrates the story from the book.
- 3. Rate the book on scale of 1 (not good) to 5 (very good).
- 4. Book reviews must be submitted using the attached form.
- 5. Reviews may be submitted by mail or sent by email to varfeducation.org.
Book reviews will be posted on the educational web site ootw-education.org by grade level.
Appropriate precautions will taken so that personal information will not displayed on the web site.
Reading levels
- 1-7 books - Knight.
- 8-14 books - Lord or Lady.
- 15-21 books - Count or Countess.
- 22-28 books - Prince or Princess.
Reader awards
- 1. Book reviews will be posted on the educational web site.
- 2. All participants will receive a membership card to the Royal Readers.
- 3. For each level attained, each participant will:
- Be admitted FREE to 1 day at the Virginia Renaissance Faire. This admission is non-transferable.
- Receive a certificate of achievement
- Receive a token
Best reader awards
- 1. The person who reads the most books between 1 October 2009 and 1 May 2010 will receive a family 4-pack of tickets to the Virginia Renaissance Faire.
- 2. The best readers from each grade level will receive 2 tickets to the Virginia Renaissance Faire.
