Junior Activities at the Faire

Come to the Virginia Renaissance Faire and work on Girl Scout Badges.  Common Faire activities and events can be used toward various badge requirements.  The following information is provided as a guide that can to be used to map common activities and events at the Faire to different badge requirements. 

Always check your Junior Girl Scout Badge Book for full information since some requirements have several parts.  Please remember to follow Girl Scout policy regarding earning recognitions as well as any safety requirements specified in Safety Wise.

Submit a sonnet in the Sonnet Contest

Talk to a citizen of the town of Stafford

Learn a song

Attend the costume lecture, participate in the costume contest, costume parade,
or talk with people in the shire to learn about fashions during the 16th century

Dance at the May pole

Play games at Poppet's Glade or the Garden in the Militia

Walk the Labyrinth

See a show at the Rose Stage, Phoenix Stage, or Woodland Stage

Make a rag doll, stamp leather, spin or weave at Poppet's Glade

Devise a code at the Militia

Sing a sea chantey at the Militia

Make knots at the Militia

Watch cooking in the Militia Cooking Area

Perform a solo (audition required)
