Jousters
The Joust Troupe presents demonstrations of the skills required by Knights participating in contests on the jousting list.
Training in the use of the lance was practised at the Quintain and included tilting and "Running at the Rings".
- A Quintain consisted of a object which suspended from a swinging pole.
When the object was hit by a charging squire, a knight in training, the whole apparatus would rotate.

- Accuracy was an important skill and squires practised "Running at the Rings" where the
lance was aimed at a target in the shape of a ring - these rings were obviously much smaller to lance than a man and
this skill was therefore difficult to master.
